Damilola Adegbite Addresses How She Suffered Betrayal, Divorce

Nollywood actress, Damilola Adegbite, could not save her 2-year-old marriage to Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh.

The Actress however took to Instagram to indirectly address the divorce saga as she reflected on the year.

Damilola who said her trust was betrayed this year, wrote;

“2017 was a tough year for me. One of the toughest of my life. My trust was betrayed in heart breaking ways and I had to go through some very painful overwhelming changes. But in all this, I am eternally grateful because who I am became crystal clear to me. Most importantly, I became more convinced that there is a higher power ( call it nature, karma, the universe.. I choose “GOD”). A GOD who listens when called on and who fights for the patient and selfless. He gave me some things I thought I really really wanted, to prove to me that there is nothing impossible for him to do, but he took them away again, this time by force, because sometimes, what we want is not necessarily good for us. It’s an uncomfortable process, like a child being weaned, but it signifies growth and advancement. I can’t deny that my scars are still healing, and I’m still a little dizzy from trying to adjust ?but ultimately, I am thankful for the opportunity to have been handed an almost brand new slate and for the courage to accept it.

This coming year, if things aren’t going the way you planned, sometimes, you may just have to take some steps back or away and choose to look at things from a different angle. I promise you, there is always a silver lining. When you are treated unjustly, you don’t always have to fight back or retaliate. Sometimes all you need to do is WALK AWAY from the situation. The law of karma will sort things out. Watever happens, trust that things are falling in place as they need to FOR YOUR GOOD. Stay POSITIVE and CHEERFUL, train yourself not to hold on to anything or anyone too tightly and never let anyone or any situation dim your LIGHT. I wish you and your loved ones a prosperous new year. May 2018 be the best year of our lives so far ? I don’t know about you but I am super SUPER excited about my future ?”

RMD Recounts How He Was Almost Convinced To Buy Instagram Followers

Nigerian actor and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, Richard Mofe-Damijo has revealed how he was initially pressured to buy followers after joining Instagram but he refused.

While RMD now has a million followers, He is proving to us that indeed the “race is not to the swift, but of the lord that shows mercy.”

He went on to recount the countless offers and advice he received on how he would benefit from falsely growing his account.

He wrote:

When I was told to open an Instagram account and reactivate my other social media accounts, I didn’t want to but because I also wanted a place where I could engage my fans I decided to. In no time I started getting offers from social media “gurus” who offered to grow my “follower-ship” with a snap of their fingers and boost my online ratings, so “brands and products would kill themselves over me”. Offers that were hard to resist, but when I sat with my team and reviewed, we found out these “gurus” often purchased faceless followers, likes and even comments, so I asked myself if I wanted to be a sensation borne out of falsified popularity. I weighed the options between quick internet fame, the money that came with it and being sincere by letting my true personality grow my accounts. I settled for the later. “Ah, Bros e go hard for you to get endorsements o if you no get reach 1 million followers”… “Just buy, everybody dey do am” were some of the arguments I heard but in my heart I knew it couldn’t be everyone and even if it were I wouldn’t, I thought to myself, after all, I didn’t get my Glo deal by how much internet fame I had. At way less than 200k plus followers, I got a call from Heineken and went to Vegas for the 007 Spyfie Experience. At way less than 1 million followers, Johnnie Walker snatched me up and with my less than 1 million followers, I turned down countless endorsement, influencer and ambassadorial offers. Slowly but surely, my followers grew. I didn’t have to create a scandal, deny my faith or be politically correct. I did not have to pay for one follower, like or comment. I did not even know I had a million followers till yesterday at the office when my Creative Team Lead pointed it out. Today, I humbly but proudly thank my 1million real followers for being the best anyone could ever ask for. I am indeed reminded that you don’t have to do it because everyone is doing it and that “doing it” doesn’t guarantee that you will make it because the race is indeed not to the swift but it is The Lord that shows mercy. Be Still and #LetGodElevateYou #ElevateWithRMD #DoNotConform #KeepWalking #Rmdsaysso

Simi Gives Out Words Of Wisdom As The Year End

As we head into 2018, X3M Music‘s artist Simi dishes words of wisdom as well as advice to live one’s best life.

“The sky is big enough! The world is big enough! Get over it,” she says, condemning the act of putting people against each other.

Simi also condemned cyber-bullying, stating that trending for a bad thing only makes you a “s**tty person“.

Read her tweets below:

“Everything ain’t for everybody…”
Instead of being mad at something u’re not feeling, find the one you like and keep it moving – so the people that like it can see road to pass.
Simi (@SympLySimi) December 29, 2017
And I hope we can leave this putting people up against each other in 2017. The sky is big enough! The world is big enough. Get Over It!
Simi (@SympLySimi) December 29, 2017
Cyber bullies also need to expire this year. Trending is nonsense if you’re trending for being a shitty person. Try not to say things about people on social media that you wouldn’t like to be said about you. You’re a coward if you’re an idiot bully hiding behind a keyboard.
Simi (@SympLySimi) December 29, 2017
Also, if you really want to do something with your life that you’ve been scared of doing – 2018 is the year that you do it scared. You get to live this life one time. No do-overs. And I hear when we get old, we regret the things we didn’t do. Live life. If you fail – u try again.
Simi (@SympLySimi) December 29, 2017
One more thing – don’t let anybody dream for you. Filter advice, because nobody in the world is right abt everythg. Dream big. Fight for your dreams. Your dreams and hopes matter. You matter. When you make a mistake, learn. Work ur ass off. Winning is not for loafers!

“2017 broke me” – Toolz, As She Writes About 2017

It’s that time of the year where people take time out to reflect on the year that’s drawing close.

With 2018 just a few hours away, media personality & OAP Toolz took a trip down memory lane and said a few things about 2017 on her Instagram page.

She wrote:

2017 has been the toughest year of my life so far. Without a doubt, it broke me. I spent way too much time in hospital, and I hate hospitals. I went through way more than I thought I could ever handle, and there were times when I was in so much physical and emotional pain that I wanted to give up.

This year has taught me that EVERYONE will go through some type of adversity…we will all face things that will potentially break us. You can and should pray against it, but ultimately we must also remember to pray for the strength to get through what life will inevitably throw at us.

God never promised us a perfect life, but in Isaiah 43: 2-3 it says “When you go through deep waters and great trouble I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown…. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel..your Saviour”. 2017 broke me, but I’m grateful for the grace of God that put me back together again. I am eternally grateful for the special people He placed in my life that helped put me back together.

My circle got a little smaller, but like someone told me a few months ago, every now and then God gives you the opportunity to spring clean your friendship closet…and that’s a good thing.

2017 was my year of INTENSE TRAINING and GROWTH. I’m still healing, but I feel FEARLESS.

Through great adversity comes strength and opportunity. If you had a difficult 2017, take comfort in the fact that you are still here…alive and able to experience another day. You may have been knocked down, but you are still here so YOU WON.

I’m excited for what 2018 holds. By the grace of God I will be launching a project that I finally got the courage to finish.

2018 is about to be a VICTORIOUS Year…and I’m so READY for it.🙌🙌 #GRATEFUL #STRENGTH #THANKSGIVING#BRINGON2018💪 #GodsGotMeALWAYS

The Nigeria Police Force has termed it a criminal offense to make phone calls at filling stations, Punch reports.

This was made public by the force’s Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, who said anyone violating the rules could be arrested.

According to Punch, Moshood described petrol stations as public spaces where, because of the inflammable petroleum products found therein, motorists ought to be careful.

Smoking and making phone calls at petrol stations are criminal offenses, he concluded. He said:

Making phone calls or smoking at filling stations is a criminal offence and the police, of course, could arrest anyone violating the safety rules put in place to safeguard life and property at the filling stations.

Georgina Onuoha shares Testimony Of How She Was In The Emergency Room On Her Birthday

Nollywood actress and model, Georgina Onuoha has revealed that while well-wishes were pouring in on her birthday, she was in the Emergency Room being treated for exhaustion, low hemoglobin and severe anemia.
The star actress explained via her Instagram page how she felt constantly tired and had to do a checkup which revealed the extreme situation. She wrote:

While the whole world celebrated my birthday on September 29, little did they know they were praying and wishing me well. Only few noticed I did not post any celebratory pictures.

With all the beautiful pictures that many cherished, loved and saved, little did they know I was lying down in the Emergency Room receiving blood transfusion, tons of Intravenous fluids. My life has always been a life of testimony. I didn’t know what was wrong, I was extremely fatigued. I take little walks; I’m panting like someone who just finished a marathon. I climbed the staircase, I feel like passing out.. I couldn’t even enjoy a beautiful beach walk with my love. I struggle with sleep, my brain can’t shutdown for the night. Things were not right. I called my primary care physician and went in for a checkup. I was sent to do Series of lab. Which I did and went home. Two days later, I was all fine and driving home and suddenly, I got that call. ” Gina she said! Where are you? I replied, I’m driving home. She said park your car and submit yourself to the ER. I said why? She said you could pass out any moment, your red blood count is extremely low, which means you are not getting enough oxygen circulation to your brain and heart. I was with my friend Kim. She took me to ER, I was treated for exhaustion, low hemoglobin and Severe Anemia. Tons of labs were done to figure out why I lost so much blood and survived that long with a hemoglobin count of 6. The rest is history. I was told by my doctor, Gina please rest, you need tons of sleep, and take it easy with studying. At every close encounter with my life God has and will continue to keep, watch and preserve my life. Who am I lord that you are so mindful of me? My lips will always praise and bless you my creator in whom I trust. Those who put their faith in God will never be disappointed. Thanks GG for always being there for me. Thanks @mskimberlyla for all the love and support. Thanks @naomiraheem I’m so glad to have you as a sister.. Thanks all for all the birthday prayers in September.. they made miracles happen in my life. For that I’m grateful 🙏🏻.

I will end this year giving testimony. Watch this space ❤️️🙏🏻

Nothing “scandalous or extraordinary” in inclusion of dead persons in appointees’ list – Presidency

The Presidency says there is nothing “scandalous or extraordinary’’ in the inclusion of the names of some dead persons in the list of appointments into boards of some agencies released on Friday.

Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Saturday.

He said the list which was released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) was prepared over two years ago and nobody could stop some of those included on the list from dying between then and now.

According to him, the process of compiling the list started in 2015, while a reviewed list was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 shortly before his health challenges.

He added that, having recovered fully, Buhari only instructed the new SGF, Boss Mustapha, to release the list.

Shehu however assured Nigerians that the dead appointees will be replaced.

He said:

This list is a historical list. It dates back to 2015. The President asked all state chapters of the APC to forward 50 names for appointments to the SGF through the national headquarters of the party. The then SGF, Babachir Lawal, presented the report in October 2016, one year after he was commissioned. The report was disputed by state governors who said they were not carried along or the list was not representative enough. So, the President constituted a new panel chaired by the Vice President. The panel has some governors and some leaders of the party as members. They were asked to go and review the list. The panel did its work and turned in its report early in 2017. The President had his health challenges during that period.’

Shehu further explained that the president only decided to revisit the matter recently and therefore directed the new SGF to release the list.

He assured that the appearance of dead persons’ names was a mistake which will be corrected.

The president approved the constitution of the Governing Boards of Agencies and Parastatals, under some Ministries, as well as the appointment of eminently qualified Nigerians to fill the Board positions.

The list was made up of 209 Chairmen and 1,258 members.
