EbonyLife TV Boss, Mo Abudu Named One Of The Most Powerful Women in Global TV

Mosunmola Abudu (Mo Abudu)


Mosunmola Abudu, 49, popularly referred to as Mo Abudu is a TV presenter and media mogul. Born in the UK, Mosunmola relocated to Lagos Nigeria at age 7 and she was sent to stay with her grandparents at their cocoa farm in Ondo State, to learn about African culture.


At age 12, after the demise of her father, she relocated to the UK to continue her life and career, the rest is history.

Mo Abudu was named among the 25 most powerful women by The Hollywood Reporter , in a list that happens to be its maiden list..

Africa’s answer to Oprah, Nigerian media entrepreneur and self-taught TV host Abudu launched the continent’s first syndicated talk show, Moments With Mo, in 2006. Featuring guests as varied as Hillary Clinton, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and IMF boss Christine Lagarde, Moments is carried across 48 African countries.


Abudu this year launched EbonyLife TV, Africa’s first continent-wide broadcaster, targeting Africa’s growing, aspirational middle class with programming that “celebrates style and success while motivating its audiences to dream and dream big,” Abudu says.
