Nicki Minaj in a recent interview with i-D. was asked about her ideal man, the rapper said.

“One day I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it’s just a fantasy,”.

On Nothing was the Same, Drake raps about his relationship with Nicki Minaj on the song “Tuscan Leather.”

“I gotta stay with the family,” Drake raps on the track. “Not even talkin’ to Nicki / Communication is breakin’ / I dropped the ball on some personal shit, I need to embrace it / I’m honest. I make mistakes. I’d be the second to admit it / Think that’s why I need her in my life, to check me when I’m trippin’.”

Soon after the song was released, Drake explained the line.

“I had done something that I had to just reevaluate and fix,” he said at the time. “We’re good. We definitely talk. I saw her the other night. It was all love. I choose to express personal things in my music and I don’t ever do it with malice. I hope that when she hears that line, she understands that what I’m saying is that she’s necessary in my life and that I care about her. It’s never with bad intentions. I did express that, and I did also fix that, which I’m happy about.”

While Drake might be her ideal man, the rapper also was asked about an ideal woman during this i-D interview.

Jonathan Doubted Abduction Of Chibok Schoolgirls For 18 Days – Olusegun Obasanjo

Ex-Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that President Goodluck Jonathan doubted the abduction of the Chibok girls for 18 days before the social media created more awareness for it.

Making the claim in an interview with BloombergTVAfrica at the weekend, Obasanjo also said if President Jonathan had acted immediately he got the information about the abduction, the girls would have been rescued within 24 hours.

Over 200 girls of Government Secondary School Chibok, a town in Borno State, were on the night of April 14, abducted from their hostels by Boko Haram – a religious sect that has been prosecuting a campaign of terror in Northeast Nigeria.

Obasanjo said, “the President did not believe that those girls were abducted for 18 days. Now if the president got information within 12 hours of the act and reacted immedieately, I believe those girls would have been rescued within 28 hours, maximum 48 hours.

Speaking on Jonathan’s view point of the abduction he said “Don’t forget they were almost 300 girls. The logistics for moving them around is something and if action had been taken immedieately, but unfortunately, the president had doubts – is this true or is this a ploy by those who don’t want me to be president again?”

“President Jonathan Did Not Promise Amnesty To Boko Haram” – Reuben Abati

The Presidency on Saturday said there was nowhere in his speech on Democracy Day that President Goodluck Jonaathan declared amnesty for members of the Boko Haram sect.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said this while addressing State House correspondents.

Commenting on the president’s Democracy Day speech, from which Haruna apparently deduced that Amnesty was granted, Abati said the word “amnesty” was never used.

“…I don’t think the President used the word Amnesty.”

The President spoke about those who are willing to denounce terrorism, those who are ready to embrace peace, opportunities have been created for them through the presidential fact finding committee on dialogue and peace resolution of conflicts in the north-eastern part of Nigeria. So I will refer you basically to the speech by the President.

President in the democracy address explained that despite Federal Government’s disposition for possible reconciliation with any terrorist group, it would be on the condition that they are prepared to lay down arms.

For our citizens who have joined hands with Al Qaeda and international terrorists in the misguided belief that violence can possibly solve their problems, our doors remain open to them for dialogue and reconciliation, if they renounce terrorism and embrace peace” Abati explained.

Sudanese Woman on Death Row To Be Released

Meriam Ibrahim, who gave birth to a daughter in custody, will be freed in a few days’ time, the official said.

Abdullahi Alzareg, an under-secretary at the foreign ministry, said Sudan guaranteed religious freedom and was committed to protecting the woman.

Khartoum has been facing international condemnation over the death sentence.

The UK Foreign Office this week said that it would push for Ms Ibrahim to be released on humanitarian grounds.

Ms Ibrahim, 27, was brought up as an Orthodox Christian, but a Sudanese judge ruled earlier this month that she should be regarded as Muslim because that had been her father’s faith.

She refused to renounce her Christianity and was sentenced to death by hanging for apostasy.

The court said she would be allowed to nurse her baby for two years before the sentence was carried out.

Her Christian marriage, in 2011, has been annulled and she has also been sentenced to 100 lashes for adultery because the union is not considered valid under Islamic law. – BBC

Heavily Armed Gunmen Abduct Bayelsa State Speaker’s 90-Year Old Mother-In-Law

Reports from Bayelsa is that the mother-in-law of Bayelsa State speaker, Madam Ogboro Dark was yesterday kidnapped by unknown gunmen who stormed her community in the state around 2.00am.

The gunmen shot heavily and made their way into the home where the kidnap was carried out.

According to few villagers who witnessed the scene, the armed men entered the community through the waterside in three boats and were fast to leave as soon as they bundled the woman.

The State commissioner has confirmed the news saying they are working very hard towards bringing back the aged woman.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bitrus Kaze has spoken on the Amnesty offered to Boko Haram by the federal government, he describes it as a step in the rong direction.

Kaze stressed that such effort, coming at a time the international community has declared to support Nigeria to stamp out terrorism, will boomerang.His words, “I do not subscribe to any form of dialogue with terrorists; we will not grow weary of making the point resoundingly clear that no country the world over has succeeded in curbing the menace that way.

Michael Otedola who died on May 5, 2014 at the age of 88, was buried amid tight security with former President , Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; Jonathan’s wife, Patience; Lagos, Ogun and Anambra states governors, Babatunde Fashola, Ibikunle Amosun and former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, in attendance Punch reports

President Jonathan who was among the several top guests at the Burial urged Nigerians to pray for the country especially at this trying times that it has witnessed attacks and has lost so many innocent people.

He said, “Please pray for the country. As a nation, we have challenges. Some other countries have passed through their challenges. Continue to pray for the nation with commitment.”

Jonathan advised Nigerians to emulate the lifestyle of the deceased whom he said had made a positive mark in his service to the country.

He said, “Issue like this gives us concerns, making us to think about life. To our late father, we are quite happy because he has left a mark in the sand of life. He has served us gracefully and has left us gracefully.

“What lesson will we leave when we also leave this planet? That is the challenge for all of us. He has been a father to all. We pray that God would raise someone who will fill the gap that he has left.”

Shortly after the service, Jonathan left in company of his wife, Patience, for Accra, Ghana, for an official assignment.

Boko Haram Kidnaps Two Prominent Emirs In Borno State

Late Emir of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar

Reports according to Premium Times, is that Boko Haram this morning kidnapped 2 first class traditional rulers in Borno State – the Emir of Uba, Ismaila Mamza and the Emir of Gwoza, Idrisa Timta.

Reports are that both Emirs were kidnapped at gunpoint at about 10a.m today Friday May 30th near Shaffa while they were traveling to Gombe to attend the funeral of the Emir of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar, who died on Tuesday May 27th.

The Borno State Government is yet to issue an official statement on the abduction.

Mercy singer, Praiz in an interview with Vanguard revealed what he might have been if not for music. Praiz spoke on his career so far and playing for football clubs while in the north.

What caught our attention is his surety to be playing for FC Barcelona if not for music.

Excerpts

Was music what you had in mind while growing up?

No. I loved Soccer, I was a huge fan of football and I play well too. I studied Computer Science in the university. I had this dream that I was going to be a big soccer star. I was dreaming to play for Barcelona FC because that has always been my club. I have played in several football clubs in the country back then in the North. For me, being an entertainer was something I never thought or dreamt of. But as nature has it, in everything we are doing, God has another plans for us. He knows where to place you and how to use you to inspire people.

Aside music, what do you think you would have done better?

Aside music, I think I would have been a good footballer. I would probably be playing for Barcelona FC.

President Jonathan Declares Amnesty For Boko Haram

Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, on Thursday disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan has announced amnesty for members of the Boko Haram sect as parts of his administration’s youths-friendly programmes and policies.

Punch reports that the government came up with a development programme which provided an opportunity for the youth to express themselves and have a meaningful life.

Haruna said although the amnesty programme was a fallout of a bitter national security, its effect on the youth had been profound.

He disclosed that 30,000 youths have benefitted from the programme which has seen beneficiaries transforming from militants to wealth creators, employers of labour and skilled citizens.

Karrueche Responds To Being Labelled The Most Notorious Side Chick in Hip Hop

“Lists” do not only cause controversies in Nigeria, it does abroad also.

Chris Brown’s on and off girlfriend Karrueche was labbeled as Hip Hop most notorious side chick in a list compiled by American urban website, VH1 .

VH1 labeled Karrueche has the most notorious of them all in a list that also includes Lil Kim. Karrueche isn’t taking the list with any smile and has quickly fired back at the e-magazine.

When no one understands you;they misinterpret you..judge you.. label you.. this is embarrassing to see, but I can do nothing but laugh because at the end of the day you can say whatever you want about me.. Label me however you please.. Your words do no define who I am. I’m happy with myself..Flaws..wrong choices..mistakes and all an that’s all that matters. I usually done speak up on shit like this but whatever. I have family that has to see shit like this. I dont even think we’re all on the same page as to what a side chick; really is.. Either way.
