The Brazilian FA has accepted the resignation letter of Luiz Filipe Scolari following a disastrous end to the just concluded World Cup.


Reports this morning suggested he was sacked, but new words are that he submitted a resignation letter,and the letter has been accepted.


CBF president Jose Maria Marin said: “Scolari and all his staff deserve our respect and our thanks.


“They were responsible for making the Brazilian people love the national team again, despite failing to achieve our main goal.”


Brazilwill now be looking for a new manager and a move for Bayern head coach Pep Guardiola and Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho has been mentioned, but both looks unlikely
