Nigeria has now moved ten spots up from a previous position of 44 to 34 in the latest FIFA ranking. Despite an arguably poor display in Brazil, I guess the round of 16 qualification has earned them a 34 spot with 660 points. Algeria is currently Africa’s best footballing Nation with 874 points occupying the 24th spot, Cote D’ Ivoire is next with 850 points, occupying the 25th spot.
World champions Germany have also been rewarded with a well deserved spot as the best footballing nation in the world as they have overtaken Spain to the 1st position with 1,724 points.
