Mayowa and her family cried out for help because she had Ovarian Cancer. She had been bedridden at LUTH for many weeks and her cancer is now beyond treatment. Her parents however went ahead to demand for funds claiming she needed a sum of $100,000 for the treatment. Nigerians have so far given her over $100,000 via GoFundMe (around N40million) and some deposited money in Naira.

While it is true that she is battling cancer, reports from LUTH this morning are that doctors in LUTH have denied giving her family a medical report advising her to seek treatment abroad. LIB reported that the doctors have told her family that her illness is beyond treatment.
