‘It was an assignment from God’ – Tasha Cobbs to critics of her Nicki Minaj collaboration

Gospel singer, Tasha Cobbs, has suffered criticism from many quarters following the release of her single, ‘I’m Getting Ready’ which features Nicki Minaj.
Cobbs has been criticized for featuring the rapper, known for her provocative sartorial style and explicit lyrics, on her gospel track.
Nicki in her verse on the song off Cobbs’ Heart. Passion. Pursuit. album praises God for saving her from poverty.

And Cobbs has moved to defend the collaboration, saying Nicki does have a great relationship with God.
She said:
I’ve seen the Nicki that is off the stage and that Nicki has a great relationship with God.

My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some (of the listeners) have never experienced God ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God she loves.
