Koffi Olomide Arrives His Mansion After His Released From Makala Prison (Photos/Video)

Congolese musician Koffi Olomide, who was deported from Kenya after allegedly kicking one of his dancers, was freed on bail Saturday in the Democratic Republic of Congo, his lawyer said

 

The entertainer, who has recorded 26 albums, was thrown out of Kenya on July 23 where he was due to stage a concert after being filmed on arrival in Nairobi the day before, kicking out and lunging at one of his dancers.

 

“Prosecutors granted bail to Koffi Olomide because he does not present a flight risk,” said Benoit Tayeye, one of his lawyers. “The defence has shown that the singer has a known residence, is a famous music star and his principal interests are here in DRC.”

 

Authorities from the prosecutor’s office confirmed Olomide’s release from a Kinshasa jail, adding that the criminal case would not be dropped. The singer was charged Tuesday with assault and battery.

 

Neither the defence team nor the prosecution gave details about the bail fee.

 

Video footage of the incident went viral. A lawyer for Olomide said previously the singer was in fact trying to step in to resolve a dispute between his dancers and that his foot had slipped.

An unnamed car driver will never forget today Sunday 31 July 2016, the day when his car was crushed under a large commercial truck but he fortunately came out alive and unscratched.

 

Duncan mighty was among the folks who joined to rescue the victim after the crash was singer Duncan Mighty who was on his way to Harrysong’s “One Delta Peace Concert” billed for today.
The entertainer shared the photos and captioned it with:

“Who said there’s no God .. Just now as am heading to ASABA with my crew I watched this man ran under a moving trailer with a high speed, so I packed and rushed down to assist him and he’s alive and safe while his car was totally destroyed .. God I thank u for saving his life … Make una join me thank God because non of u will die untimely inJESUS NAME AMEN.”

Jide Kosoko Says He Regrets Marrying Many Women

Legendary Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has revealed he regrets marrying more than one woman in his life.

The 62 year old actor revealed this in an interview with The Tribune. When asked if he planned to marry another woman, he said, “Let me tell you, I don’t pray that my enemy should practice polygamy. And, this should be a lesson to the young ones coming. I know some people will say their religion permits it, but the religion did not enforce it. I have serious business to do now. I have young children to take care of.”

He also revealed that there is absolutely no chance of him marrying another woman or having more children. “That will be madness. Let me say this today for the first time, I never planned to be a polygamist. I found myself in that situation and I had to adjust to the system. I didn’t set out in life to go into polygamy. So for me, having more children at this stage is madness. Apart from age, If you hear that Jide Kosoko welcomes new baby tomorrow, I am sure you will say this man is mad. Am I going to be selling the children to make money?”

Jide Kosoko’s wife Henrietta recently died from complications resulting from Diabetes.

Popular Nollywood actress Mide Martins was in the news sometime this year. The actress claimed her husband Afeez Owo had left her alone with their kids for 3 months claiming they are now separated. Subsequently, Mide revealed she and her husband are on good terms.

“My husband and I grew up together. He was actually my mother’s manager and  I used to call him Brother Afeez.”

“We have always been friends. When I had a problem with my husband some months back, I prayed to God and we are now fine.”

“Our relationship is free from any kind of problems. My husband is the best man in the world and he has always been there for me.”

Mide also revealedher upcoming project,”I’m currently working on a Yoruba-cum-English movie and the title is Kokoro. Acting is all that I do now.”

13 Prisoners Escape Koton Karfe Prison in Kogi

Thirteen inmates escaped in a fresh jailbreak recorded at Koton Karfe prison in Kogi in the early hours of Saturday. The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, gathered from a reliable source that the incident happened at about 7a.m. when the inmates forcefully brought down the wall of the prison.

The all male prison facility which was inaugurated in 2014 has the capacity to accommodate 180 inmates. However, it was accommodating about 263 inmates as at the time of the jailbreak, Saturday. One of the escaped inmates was re-arrested almost immediately by security agents, NAN reports.

NAN recalls that this was the third jailbreak recorded in Koton Karfe as the old prison facility witnessed similar jailbreaks in 2010 and 2013. In previous jailbreaks 132 inmates escaped from the prison and majority were awaiting trials. It was gathered that Comptroller–General of the Nigeria Prison Service immediately sent a representative to Koton Karfe to assess the situation.

The State’s Controller of Prison, Musa Maza, who would have shed more light on the incident, did not pick several calls made to his mobile telephone line.

‘Virgin’ Actress Halima Abubakar Reveals She Has 9 More Years Before Reaching Menopause

In a swift reaction to the mounting criticism that trailed her online ‘revelation’ penultimate week that she was looking forward to losing her ‘virginity’ and having kids, sultry Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has lashed out at what she calls the negative stereotype of women in the make-believe industry.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Abubakar was unapologetic about her hugely controversial claim of being ‘a virgin’ and took a swipe at doubting Thomases.
“Why would people become annoyed because I said I am a virgin? Just because I’m in the industry does not mean I am badly behaved. Not everyone is sexually active. You can have a boyfriend and not be sexually active. The reaction I got shows the mentality of the people.
If I say I’m a virgin, I am and if I say I am not, then I am not. They tell me to go get married, should I go after someone else’s husband?,” she said.
Abubakar added, “Everybody thinks one should get married from age 18. A lot of marriages are complicated. Marriage will come when it will come, one doesnt need to force it. People are getting divorced with pregnancies because they got married under pressure. We should let people be. People are saying if you are not getting married, go and get kids because menopause is approaching.

 

What kind of thing is that? Is it your menopause? I still have about nine years before I hit menopause all things being equal. I am not one of those people that will kill themselves because of marriage. I can’t have kids outside marriage.”
