iRoKOtv is popular for its free movie streaming service in Nigeria and has earned itself a large customer-base, but apparently, things are about to change as its CEO, Jason Njoku in a blog post today announced starting immediately, they will be killing their free, ad-supported iROKOtv free service.
Starting immediately, 140 of the 170 countries where the business thrives will be migrated from the free service to a 14-day free trial of the iROKOtv access to over 10,000 hours of Nollywood content with no ads. The other 30 would be migrated as well eventually.
As Jason himself admits in the post, the shift from the ad-based model to a subscription based model overnight is quite dramatic, but from the business side of things, the customer conversions are significant, iROKOtv as a company would be loads better in terms of revenue.
