Vocalist lyricist, harmonica player, and agent, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (D’Banj) who won the lady MAMA Evolution grants, has committed the prestigious prize to his previous business accomplice and maker, Don Jazzy, who is the manager of Mavin Records.
The Evolution category is implied for set up artistes who have had an enormous effect on the African music scene, taken African music to new statures around the globe and pushed the limits of innovativeness.
D’Banj beat individual Nigerian delegates Asa, Psquare and 2face to the grants. Fally Ipupa (DRC), Samini (Ghana), HHP (South Africa) Chameleone (Uganda), Black Coffee (South Africa) and Anselmo Ralph (Angola) were likewise selected
It will be reviewed that the musical marriage in the middle of D’Banj and Don Jazzy finished on a harsh note in 2012.
