It appears the new trend for established musicians is to attempt to sign a female musician to their budding record label in the hope to create a music star in a female.
The trend has risen to a new height in 2016 with 4 females being signed to a label owned by an established star between March and April alone.

The signing of Tonye, who is not new to the scene is generally seen as a replacement to the hugely disappointing Emma Nyra.
