If we analyze from Adekunle Gold’s Moelogo-assisted tack “Only Girl” to the infectious “Money“, we’d conclude that the singer’s sophomore album cycle has found him delivering some of the best songs of his career.
While that was our review, Adekunle Gold have just further outdone himself with his newest single: the incredibly moving “Ire” (which means “goodness“).
Before the release of “Ire“, Adekunle Gold said the Seyikeyz-produced track will be “the soundtrack of your life”, and he was clearly on to something. It’s an immensely relatable song about the struggle to be the best you can be.
Speaking about what the song means to him on Instagram, Adekunle Gold said:
“‘Ire’ is a symbolic song about the hustle, the struggle, the loss, the beginning of faith and the journey to being me.”
He also called “Ire” the summary of his upcoming album, About 30 — which makes us even more excited for its release. With the lead singles, “Only Girl”, “Call On Me”, “Money” and now “Ire”, it’s clear that the album will be something truly special.
