Why Dasuki, Kanu Were Rearrested Despite Bail – President Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari Releases Christmas Card; Sends Heartwarming Message To Nigerians ~ Watch!

The President has finally addressed the issue of the government’s refusal to a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and founder of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, free on bail.

Dasuki’s case with the EFCC has been ongoing for some time now, as he is being prosecuted by the commission for alleged misappropriation of $2.2 billion meant for the purchase of arms to fight the Boko Haram terrorist sect. Dasuki was arrested again on Wednesday despite been granted bail by different federal courts.

As regards Nnamdi Kanu’s case, he is one of the leading protesters for the creation of Biafara Republic and although he was granted bail by an Abuja Federal High court he was arrested again by the SSS on a fresh charge of treasonable felony.

The President has however said due to the seriousness of the duo’s alleged crimes, they can’t be granted freedom.

“If you see the atrocities these people committed against this country, we can’t allow them to jump bail” Buhari said.

“They would just say to Central Bank give so and so, 40 billion naira just like that; 40 billion”, he said referring to Dasuki.

Mr President further said that it is not okay for Dasuki to “travel to London to see his doctor” as he argued that, “What of the over two million people displaced, most of them orphans whose fathers have been killed, what type of government do you want to run? We cannot allow that”

On Nnamdi Kanu, Buhari said although he has both Both British and Nigerian international passports he “did not use any of them to come into the country”.
