Tony Payne, ex-Wife of Nigerian singer, 9ice has come out to defend him over allegations that he promotes fraud and implores younger people to do it with his music.
Tony Payne took to social media to defend 9ice as she claimed singing about fraud doesn’t entirely mean you endorse it.
She took some time out to defend Nigerian artistes and their craft saying they draw inspiration from things happening around them and put them into their music, adding that doing this, doesn’t mean they approve of their fans picking up the lifestyle depicted in their songs. This defence comes after top music agent, Ayo Shonaiya, bared his thought concerning the issue tweeting:
When we sang and danced to Maga Don Pay (shout Halleluyah) back then, what the fuck did we think the younger ones will sing & dance to today?
