Panic struck in Koso village, Niger State when a grandmother, Fatima Sarki, and two were arrested for slaughtering Lima Doo Mohammed, a 9-year-old boy and using his coprse to cook a meal of pepper-soup.
The trio, who carried out the evil act in Koso village, Lavun LGA, of the state, were arrested by the Niger State Police command and recently paraded before the press.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Mr. Olusola Amore, disclosed that Mohammed’s disappearance was reported to the police on 9 August, by his family.
He said the police receieved vital intel which suggested that they investigate the paternal grandmother of the deceased, because the boy was reportedly last seen with Sarki.
During interrogation, Amore disclosed that the grandmother confessed to the heinous crime, and also implicated a certain, Zhitsu Aliyu whom she said carried out the slaughtering of the boy, while also mentioning another accomplice, Amina Musa, whom according to her, was responsible for cooking the pepper-soup with Mohammed’s corpse.
The suspects have been charged to court on a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and cannibalism.
The commissioner said, “The pots and plates the suspects used in cooking and serving themselves with the said cooked human flesh were recovered and are now exhibits.” They will also be charged to court soon.
