Young Nigerian soccer players, Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City FC and Alex Iwobi of Arsenal FC are both making giant strides in England and have both made a feat as the first Nigerians to be nominated for UEFA’s Golden Boy Award, an award given to the best promising teenage talent in Europe.
40 teenagers were shortlisted for the Golden Boy also includes talented popular youngsters like Dele Alli, Marko Grujic, Lucas Hernandez, Kingsley Coman, Marcus Rashford, Moussa Dembele, Youri Tielemans, Leroy Sane, Renato Sanches, Ousmane Dembele and Gabriel Barbosa among others.
Arsenal’s Iwobi has made 17 league appearances and scored twice for the Gunners raking up a large amount of assists while Man City’s Iheanacho has scored 10 Premier League goals from just 14 shots on target in 30 appearances
