The richest people in Africa could easily be former and current presidents and rulers of African countries. But don’t expect to find them on prestigious publications like FORBES rich list.
Hypothetically, Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s previous military ruler, was a very rich person – and not in naira, but rather in dollars.
At the time he kicked the bucket in 1998, the Nigerian government revealed over $3 billion connected to the cruel dictator held in individual and intermediary financial balances in duty asylums as differing as Switzerland, Luxembourg, Jersey and Liechtenstein.
Taking after a progression of arrangements between the Nigerian government and the Abacha family, Abacha’s first child, Mohammed in the long run returned $1.2 billion to the Nigerian government in 2002.
